Firooz co-founded several CVD diamond product companies, including Group4 Labs and P1 Diamond, and formerly led CVD thermal products at Element Six/De Beers. Firooz has a PhD in Materials Science from USC.

Max is a former patent litigator and patent examiner. Max joined Northern Carbon after leading Fenix Diamonds to total victory in the nation’s largest lab-grown-diamond patent lawsuit. Max has a BS in mechanical engineering from Illinois and a JD from the University of Chicago.
Susan Harrison is a communications professional with 20 years of experience in broadcast television, specializing in live news production and direction. Known for her work managing graphics and directing live coverage, Susan built her career in the demanding world of broadcast news, including time at ABC.
She holds a B.S. in Communications from Western Michigan University, with minors in English and Spanish.
Northern Carbon is the commercial manifestation of Michael’s inventions. Michael received the original patent on diamond for cooling computer chips. He is the founder of Crystallume, the first venture-funded CVD diamond company, which completed a successful IPO in 1994.
Michael, a former Caltech undergrad, earned a PhD in Neurophysiology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and a JD from Cal.
